Weight Loss Update

Once again I have managed to let some time pass by without updating my readers about my weight loss challenge. However I think that many of you will be proud of me. I have managed to keep my weight down. I weighed myself sans clothing and was at 261. So the pounds keep coming off. I am starting to notice it when wearing older jeans and such. You know that the Man Behind the Clouds will continue to chip away at the weight. My efforts have increased because of my 10 year high school reunion. Lately I have been using that as motivation. I feel like an episode of any tv sitcom. You know what I am talking about. It seems like every tv show has at least one episode where someone tries to lose weight before a reunion or something. Maybe not the television programming that is on today but back in my day. Wow I can’t believe I just said that. Anyways just know that your lovable Man Behind the Clouds is trying his best to keep his weight down. I will bring you more soon enough!!

Weight Loss Report Vol. 2

Well quite some time has passed since my last update.  I do apologize for that.  I also would like to thank my good friend The Knight Angel for the proverbial kick in the ass.

So for all my loyal readers out there, I appreciate the continued support.  I have been moderately active with my weightlifting routine.  Now I certainly need to step it up a bit because the weight loss contest that is going on at the office ends on October 9th.  I have a remote shot at winning.  But anyways, the way time keeps moving I cannot afford to get lazy.

On a positive note, my eating habits have certainly changed drastically.  I have been eating oatmeal almost every morning for breakfast.  In addition to eating better, I have made an effort to drink more water.  So while I may be slacking on the work outs, I make up for it with my eating habits.  Now if I can stop being such a jackass and combine the two, I would be in great shape (literally).

So by now I am sure you are just chomping at the bit to find out what I am tipping the scales at.  Well the last time I stepped on the scale I weighed in at 263 fully clothed and 261 in my boxers.  Usually I would get discouraged by the fact that I have lost only 4-6 pounds.  The one saving grace is that people are starting to take notice that I am losing weight.  I have also noticed that most of my pants are starting to feel looser around the waist.  So I thank you all for the compliments and I need to channel this and use it as motivation.

I want to apologize to my readers for my failure to update you all.  For next time please do not hesitate to send me facebook messages, tweets, or emails telling me to get off my lazy black ass.  So until next time, lets hope that I can dip into the 250′s.

Oh one last note please become a Facebook fan if you haven’t already.  It is simple as clicking the Facebook badge.

Weight Loss Report Vol 1.

So many people have asked how the whole weight loss challenge is going.  My response to that would be is that I have pretty much maintained the same weight.  For the last past week, I have managed to work out twice in the first week and three times in the second.    Thanks to some friendly advice, I have incorporated circuit training into my workouts.  Now even though I have maintained the same weight, I feel a little bit different.  It is still fairly early and I have a long ways to go.  But I think I have overcome the biggest obstacle and that was actually getting off my lazy ass to work out.  If I continue to work at this and get my confidence up more, I will be alright.  I think for next report I would like to have lost at least 4 lbs.  It is going to take some effort but I can already see that I have the support of my fans.  Also some people at work have decided to start another interoffice weight loss challenge. I definitely need to push myself because it is already August.  So for the next few months please continue to show your support for me as I press on to achieve my goals.  Thanks for your continued support and please stay tuned for volume 2 coming to you on August 14th.

Weight Loss Challenge

Man_on_ScaleListen up all you Man Behind The Clouds readers out there.  I am officially declaring a weight loss challenge.  I have grown tired of this stomach that I am carrying around.  It is time to start taking action.  Too many days and nights have gone by without any effort to exercise.  I have tried time and time again to lose this weight and keep it off.  But I have to start now or else suffer severe health catastrophes down the road.  Now I am going to make an effort to eat better and exercise often.  However, I am going to need my readers help.  How am I going to need your help you ask?  Well I am going to definitely need a support structure.  I believe with the support of my fans, I think I can try to lose weight.

Here is the plan.  I plan on working out at least 3 times a week.  In order to lose weight, I will have to make an effort to limit myself to cardiovascular exercise.  I want to keep this going until the end of the year!  My goal is to weigh between 225-230!  I am currently at 267!  If anybody else wants to join in and perhaps put some money on who can lose the most weight then please let me know.  We can determine the rules and terms later if anybody is interested.

So I am thinking that every two weeks, I will provide my readers an update on how much I weigh.  As mentioned before, I cannot do this alone and will need the encouragement of my readers. Also if you know of any basketball leagues going on or pickup games please let me know.  With your help, I think I can shed the weight and start to gain more confidence in my appearance.

The challenge will come into effect on July 13th, 2009.  The first update will happen on July 31st!  Wish me luck!
