RIP Kyle VanDeGiesen

North Attleboro Memory #3- Kyle VanDeGiesen:  Last month was a sad time for the family and friends of Kyle VanDeGiesen.  While serving as a pilot in Afghanistan, his helicopter crashed with another, and killed the passengers of both.  As long as I have known Kyle, he could always win you over with that smile of his.  It is kind of funny because when I first met him, I always thought he had the personality and swagger of Leonardo DiCaprio.  Whenever we would pass each other in the halls, I would always say what’s up Leo!  Kyle was a born competitor as well.  We would play against each other in recreation basketball.  I remember him treating it like it was the NBA.  Like everything in life, Kyle did it with professionalism.  In this world you don’t meet too many people like Kyle.  Thoughts and prayers go out to the VanDeGiesen family.

North Attleboro Memory 2

Welcome to another installment of North Attleboro Memories!

North Attleboro Memory #2..

Triboro Cinemas:  Before the arrival of Showcase Theaters.. There was good ol Triboro.  This was a Friday or Saturday hot spot for the cool kids.  I remember meeting my friends there and hanging in the parking lot before going in.  Triboro has definitely seen its fair share of hormonal young boys and girls necking and petting.  Ha-ha who says necking and petting!  In our day it was called making out.  Unfortunately Triboro could not compete with Showcase and eventually closed down.  We will miss the smell of popcorn and the sticky floors! Thanks for the memories Triboro!

North Attleboro Memory

The Man Behind the Clouds will be heading back home for his 10 year high school reunion.  Which I am very excited about.  So excited I thought it would be cool to share every once in awhile a special memory of my great hometown, North Attleboro.

North Attleboro Memory #1

Rico’s:  Go figure that my first memory would be about food.  But I tell you there was nothing better than a nice greasy Steak & Cheese or Cheeseburger Sub with french fries from Rico’s.  Man, I am just salivating at the thought of possibly biting into another one of their sandwiches soon.  If Rico’s only delivered to Orlando!!  Actually it is probably a good thing that they don’t.  I don’t want to weigh 300 pounds!
